Dr. Young Ik Shin is the founder and Medical Director of DM Dermatology and a board-certified dermatologist in South Korea. He is devoted to helping his patients with any concerns they may have while utilizing a wide variety of treatments. Dr. Shin always puts his patients first and provides each patient with effective treatments that are personalized to their needs. He prides himself with always staying up to date on the latest in dermatology, in order to provide his patients with the best quality experience. Over the past 25 years, Dr Shin has received and has been recognized for his excellent work in the field of dermatology and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and expertise with all of his patients.

Foreign Patient Attraction Medical Institution Certification
This certification is officially granted by the government to medical institutions that demonstrate the capability to safely and systematically provide medical services to international patients.
To receive this certification, institutions must meet the following criteria:
Patient safety and medical quality management
Foreign patient support system
Organizational and personnel management
Compliance with legal requirements
Out of approximately 4,000 medical institutions in Korea that treat international patients, only 24 institutions have received this certification.
Korea International Medical Association (KIMA)
KIMA is a private association established to promote the attraction of international patients and international medical cooperation among Korean medical institutions. It forms a professional medical network by selecting institutions that have the capability to treat international patients and participate in global medical activities. Only around 30 medical institutions nationwide have been recognized as KIMA member hospitals.

Designation as an Excellent Medical Tourism Institution by the Ministry of Justice

DM Dermatology received this designation after a rigorous evaluation process. Currently, only around 50 medical institutions nationwide hold this designation.
Seoul Mayor’s Award
DM Dermatology received an award from the Seoul Metropolitan Government in recognition of its contribution to promoting medical tourism in Seoul through international patient services. Only two institutions are selected each year, and DM Dermatology received this award in 2025.
